The Soirée Foundation, a newly established not‑for‑profit arm of The Sunday Soirée Limited is proud to introduce its inaugural initiative: Soirée Socials. This is more than an event. It’s a movement. A sports‑centred awareness and fundraising platform that fuses athletics with community impact, the Soirée way. Through curated sporting experiences, we’ll raise funds for causes that reflect our core objectives: mental health & wellness, youth empowerment, creative inclusion, gender‑sensitivity and culture‑led economic participation.
Why men? Why sports?
We’re launching during Movember, the global month of “mustaches for men’s health”, because this year, we are zeroing in on men’s mental health in Malawi. Movember is a call‑to‑action: grow a moustache, spark conversations, normalise wellb-eing check‑ins, break stigma.
In Malawi, suicide and mental health challenges are rising. Recent statistics show that from January to September 2025 alone, 482 people committed suicide and of those, 415 are men, while 67 are women. Studies also show that young people face high levels of distress, lack of mental‑health literacy, and a culture of silence: “we do not talk about it.”
Against this backdrop, we recognise that sport is a universal connector, it invites men and youth out of their routines, into teams, into activity, into dialogue. Soirée Socials offers that gateway.
Please note that this event is open to everyone. While we focus on supporting men’s mental health, men need community, and community includes all genders. Women, men, and gender-diverse individuals are all welcome, both as attendees and as team members. Everyone has a role to play in conversation, connection, and change.
