What a day. What a community. What a moment for men’s mental health in Malawi.
Thank you to everyone who showed up for Soirée Socials: Movember, played, cheered, laughed, connected, got soaked in the rain, and still kept the energy alive. You turned a simple idea into something meaningful, memorable, and necessary.
A special thank you to Mrs. Uthenji Nyanda and the entire Lilongwe Golf Club team for hosting us with so much warmth and support. To MASM, thank you for joining the tournament and sponsoring EMS for the day, Edna Kamwendo, Joana and the whole team, we appreciate your commitment. And to FDH Bank, our financial partner, thank you for believing in our work, and to Madalitso Mchere Banda and co, we are grateful for the continued support.
To Tasha and Tarah from Coco’s, thank you for stepping in and backing the event in a meaningful way. And a huge shoutout to TNM for not only competing in the games, but also donating therapy sessions worth MK1,000,000, a contribution going directly to our partner Saint John of God. That is real impact.
To Gilbert “Eagle” Kamanga from Saint John’s of God, your unwavering support from our earliest mental health pilots to this moment means everything. Thank you for helping us make mental health conversations feel normal, comfortable and cool.
And to our audiovisual partners Kweza, thank you for ensuring we were heard loud and clear. Rain, distance, pressure, you always show up. Simon and Alffie, your consistency and quality is deeply appreciated.
A huge thank you to our security partners, Eagle Sight Security, for securing the event premises as part of their contribution to the cause and event. Ajanja and team, thank you for keeping us safe, receive your flowers.
A special thank you to our match officials, the referees and linesmen who kept the spirit of the game alive. And an extra shoutout to Theodre Kawalala and his team for standing on business and making sure every match ran smoothly, fairly and safely. We thank you for your service.
To the teams FDH Bank Socials FC, TNM Socials FC, Champagne FC, MASM Socials FC and Zampira FC, you made this tournament what it was. Despite the heavy rains, you fueled up even more and gave us a show worth celebrating:

To all the men who came — thank you for showing up not just for the game, but for yourselves. For being open, joyful, competitive, vulnerable and connected. And to the women who came to support and cheer, thank you for the love and energy you brought into the space.
This was a safe place for men to be. To be themselves. To breathe. To connect. To talk. To laugh. To feel seen. And you made it real.

We will also be sharing information soon on how men can access the free therapy sessions funded through this event, in partnership with Saint John of God.
Thank you for believing in what we’re building. This is only the beginning.
